Bath and Shower Ideas to Help you Wake up in the Morning!
The alarm's been going off for ages and you’ve just managed to drag yourself out of bed but your eyes are refusing to open and your brain is still in sleep mode – we’ve all been there!
If you have time, run the bath, adding something ‘zingy’ to wake up all of your senses: the aroma will hit your nose and from there all your senses will awaken. If time is short set the shower to not-too-hot and grab a zingy shower gel, the bubbles and the smells do the same job whether it be a tub or shower! Use a bath scrunchie to really get the bubbles going and give yourself a good rub all over!
Orange – zesty and powerful, also believed to create positive feelings, so, great before a tough day at work - add a little ginger which should awaken your brain, and make you think clearly. A real wake up call! Also try lemon, lime, grapefruit, tea tree or Rosemary, the herb is a good wake me up, it’s energising too! On the aromatherapy front, there are several store bought soaps and gels containing Bergamot, which is from the Orange family, so has excellent cleansing qualities, which makes it great for healing skin problems, as well as being enlivening.
I highly recommend:
This shower gel contains organic bergamot, organic grapefruit, ethically harvested geranium and organic ylang-ylang essential oils so is sure to awaken your mind and set you up for the day ahead!
Coffee – we drink it as a pick me up, we can bathe in it as well! Try this home-made recipe:-
Coffee Body Scrub Coffee tightens and rejuvenates skin, while raw sugar exfoliates, and olive oil seals in moisture.
Ingredients · 2 cups of coarse ground coffee · 1/2 cup raw sugar crystals (granulated can suffice) · 3 Tbsp olive oil Instructions Combine all ingredients in medium bowl. Take a warm bath or hot shower to open your pores and hydrate your skin. Rub the coffee mixture into your skin in large circles with even, firm pressure. Shower to rinse, pat dry, and follow with unscented body lotion or light vegetable oil. An added bonus: Coffee is granular and feels nice on the skin but the caffeine has added benefits. Applied topically coffee helps to redistribute fat cells and decrease the formation of cellulite. It also acts as a vasorestrictor, tightening and shrinking blood vessels thereby helping eliminate varicose veins. It has been used for years in spas in Hawaii and on the coast of Bali.
